We made it

We took the plane
We rode on the train
We're happy to be
In Dogdenestinks Ukraine

We got home after midnight as the bridge is closed because it broke somehow. I think all the potholes finally broke through and made one big hole. The taxi took took the long and winding road home and we got back to our little home away from home. On the way we almost hit a guy who was walking across the street and when he saw the car he ran toward the car like he was trying to get hit. The driver who was a little crazy himself, stopped and talked to the guy and then told us that he was high on drugs. SCARY. I am not sure that the other side of the river is any safer than here. We are in a pretty quiet area here but we want to make it a little more complicated for the relatives to bug our Oleg,

We went to pick up the boys this morning and we got there early and the kids in Olegs group were all standing there in their underwear.. Even the girls only had underwear bottoms on and were being paraded through the orphanage to go to get dressed. No wonder modesty is kind of an issue for us who adopt :)

Oleg was happy to see us. He smiled and smiled and when we went to get Vitaly it had left to go to our apt to see if we were home. We walked home and no Vitaly and so we finally found him back at the orphanage. He is so cute and glad to be with us and we are headed out to do our business on this side of the river. The boys spent Fri and Sat with the Corbetts. We were worried that the relatives would show up yesterday but they didn't and so we are hoping that they won't bother with the tons of paperwork that they would have to turn in by today at 5.

Corbetts get to leave tomorrow YAY for them. We hope to finish here this week.

All is finally getting weller
Christy

PS the kidney stone went back into hibernation. Hopefully if I keep the water going we will be OK. Dave told me a drug to get if it hits and I will not be going to the hospital.

  1. Glad you all made it safely back to Ukraine. We hope to see you all in another week. Tell Sonya to post her flight information on her blog if she wants some welcome homers.

  2. Hurray!!! So you staying on the other side of the river now? I wonder where. I hope it's not the scary Strader apartment. Maybe it's in Constantines apartment? I'll wait for pictures. Good luck with all the paper work. When is your ten day wait up?
Glad the kidney stone is deciding not to visit in Ukraine.
    Glad you've got you boys.
That parading around in underwear is so degrading I think. When I toured our orphanage the kids were taking naps in underwear and were instructed to jump out of bed and stand there while I went around meeting them. I was embarrassed for all of us!
Our orphanage also used being naked as a discipline tactic-soemtimes though they wore their underwear on their heads! Very sad.
Yeah for Sonya! Hang in there. You're almost next!
Hey, guess what? My word verification was bless-cool huh?
