Sorry this is on it's side. This was the meal Irina did for us with Oksana in the background.
This is cute Lira writing to tyler in the sand/dirt "you are tyler, I am Lira" and then a heart.
Oleg and the cake (torte) Sonya gave him to celebrate the court. This was at the mall right before the pouting fest.

  1. I think pouting is very common. It's taken us almost a year to get over it. They're very dramatic and can pout over the smallest, stupidest things. I know Amy will second me on this.
I think they've been taught not to talk back-and since due to language issues the obviously cannot-they pout! Like no other!
I can't blame Vitaly for giving it to him. Good grief-they're acting like brothers already.
I don't think you ever feel it's over until you're home. I don't think they can change their mind during the ten day wait but who knows? Maybe so. I mean-isn't the ten day wait an opportunity for any relatives to come contest the adoption? I think they've made this ten day wait stiuplation to bolster Ukraine's economy. Ten more days of American's buying at the stores, restaurants and renting housing. Good for you for going to ANOTHER country and giving them your money!
I have emailed you twice regarding this morning email and both have come back undelivered to you but no worries! I am on it.

  2. I have to smile about the pouting. It's such a common thing for these Ukraine klds when they get mad or frustrated. It's a way they blow off steam. And if these kids are like the other kids, the pouting lasts a little while and then it's like nothing happened. I think Wendy's right about talking back. Verbalizing and talking things out is something new to them. Up until now now, it's been 'This is how it is, and you don't have a choice'.

Someone needs to become interested in that little Sasha. He's a handsome fellow. It's fun to read about the other kids in the orphanage that you are befriending and getting to know. Lena, Lira, Sasha -- you hinted to this before, but when you finally leave Ukraine, you'll wish you could bring every one of them home with you. When it comes time to leave Ukraine, the hardest part is looking back at all the beautiful little faces as you drive away. That's why do many go back and do this again.

  3. I do second Wendy on the pouting. Although there is something to be said for not being able to understand them. There are days I wish I didn't know what they were saying. Ha ha! I have one crier and one pouter I don't know which is worse. It is such a fun adventure.

That is exciting about Corbett's. Tell them we are happy for them.
