Mission Call

Devin received his mission call. We are still having a hard time believing that he is going to Kyiv, Ukraine. It is the same mission that Bryan just came home from. It is the same country that our 2 adopted boys are from. He will be speaking Russian like our oldest son Tyler who went to Russia. We are starting to wonder if there is some significance in all of this. 3 missionaries in the last 4 years and they all go to that part of the world. What are chances?
Dave and I decided that it is time to learn Russian. If nothing else we will understand what the kids are saying at family reunions. We have been looking forward to going on a series of missions someday but I am kind of nervous to turn in papers after this :) JK....kinda.

  1. Ha! I thought the same thing! You better enjoy those tropical trips while you can because given your families track record, you'll be heading there too!
That is exciting though. What a way to bond as brothers!

  2. Wow, hardly a coincidence. Your line to Ukraine keeps getting thicker! Congratulations to Devin. This will mean so much more for him knowing there is so much of your family history that goes back to where he'll soon be.

  3. That is so exciting! What a great time in life. I'm wondering if you would share how exactly you dealt with any aggression your boys may have demonstrated? Meaning how you dealt with them and yourself:) I'm beginning to doubt that he will ever understand. As in maybe there's some 'effects' we are dealing with... If you ever have a spare minute, I'd love to hear your input. Thanks! stephani(underscore)h(at)yahoo(dot)com
